What is eSata? ☺?

Me & my mom are going shopping for external drives and I was just wondering what are the limitations of an eSata drive and will it work if a computer only has a USB port and not an eSata port?

Answer:
The advantage of eSata over usb is that it is MUCH faster. In the real world an external drive using an usb 2.0 interface will get 20-30 Mps vs 75-85 Mps for eSATA which is very noticable Some external HDD are capable of both eSata and USB, so it is a good idea In order to use an eSata drive if you dont have any eSata port is to buy an expansion slot such as this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812104063, or if your pc is old and doesnt have sata ports inside it, youd need to buy a card like this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8699777&st=esata&lp=2&type=product&cp=1&id=1199494484216 it is very easy to install and the speed gain is totally worth it The only advantages of usb is that it is more common and power can run through the cable, but in this case its pretty useless.
