New Completely Wireless Computers
Computers have been becoming more and more advanced every since they were first conceived. The most obvious advances have been in reducing the size of different computer parts, sometimes by up to as much as 5000%. This has meant that computers are great deal lighter and more mobile and also means that more technology and heatshrink products can be fitted in without compromising on overall size.
An area of technology that is seen major developments in recent years is wireless functionality. This has been implemented into the design of a large number of keyboards, mice and more recently Internet connections. However, most computers are still built using wires or alpha wire to connect the various components and this has its draw backs. To start with, wires often get in the way and limit what you can connect when making additions to the motherboard. Further to this, they often degrade over a period of time and cause malfunctioning of the computer.
This may all be about to change however with the development of wireless computer components that allow the different elements of a computer to communicate with each other without the need for cables. To put this in real terms the processor will be able to communicate will all other parts of the machine without the need for internal wires, which also means their will be less connection ports on each item and less chance of dust or dirt getting into them.It will also allow for different computer components to be in alternative locations. This may be useful if you need to carry your hard drive around with you or want to easily add another component without taking the computer apart.
The technology is still in testing stages but will be included in a number of computer systems by 2012 along with the new obstruction light technology for HD computer monitors.
Troubleshoot Your Wireless Internet Connection
Of all the network solutions available, wireless internet gives you the freedom to be online without the need for extensive cabling. However, wireless internet connections are also more vunerable to cyber attacks – particularly if it is inactive for long periods. If you are having trouble with your wireless network, the following list of network support pointers should help to set you right.
1) Power cycle the system by shutting it down and switching it back on after a minimum of 30 seconds.
2) Try checking the network settings to verify the IP address as well as other related information.
3) Determine whether your network card is working adequately.Try to identify the malfunctioning adapter by disabling the cards one by one.
4) Try moving one of the portable hosts (e.g a laptop) closer to the router. If you find that it ia working better then interference of low signal strength is the reason for the poor internet access.
5) Check the functioning of the wireless router as well as the access points.Adjust the antenna in order to get the optimum signal. Most wireless routers should come with omni-directional antennae to send signals in all directions – a situation appropriate for a square shaped network.
6) Try changing the location of the router and access point. They should ideally be placed centrally between all computers.
7) Examine the signal strength by using the monitoring utility that typically comes with the access point.
Check that all the devices are showing the correct lights. There is no universal standard to indicate wireless router functionality so ensure that you check the devices manuals to see which light indicates what function.
9) Use wireless internet utilities to check the SSIDs and channels neighbouring wireless networks are using.
10) Check that the correct drivers have been installed.
11) Check the configuration settings for encryption keys.
If you are still struggling then it can be a good idea to contact the manufacturer of your wireless router or a network supports solutions company.
