The key to finding a great wedding photographer for your special day

People think it is very easy to take good pictures especially now with the onset of many digital cameras. That is far from the truth. Taking and capturing photos has definitely become easy due to point-and-click cameras.  Taking good photographs has never been easy.I’m talking about the good or very good photographs and not just any candid photos. It always needs talent to take quality photos.Yes, photography is an art in itself. So, with that in mind, how do you now find someone that will be the right photographer for you on your wedding day?

First thing you want to make sure you find is a photographer you like.It seems that that is an obvious thing to consider.  But I have heard many horror stories as a San Diego wedding photographer of people choosing photographers they don’t get along with.  This creates problems several ways.  They could be stubborn and take photos they want rather than what you want.He/She might not be suited to work with you since he/she might not be able to bring out the best in you.Choosing someone that you like is the key.

Next thing would be for you to make sure that the photographer that you would hire has some style. That may sound vague. What I am saying is that since photography is an art.Go find someone who has the ability to put some artistry into your wedding photos so that the emotions during that day will be felt even by just looking at the pictures.  Obviously art is subjective and based on what a person likes. So go find a photographer whose style is the one that suits you most.  All my clients of my San Diego photographer service go through my portfolio so they can see what style of work I have.

Last thing is look for a photographer that has the experience in handling big events. Why do I emphasize that it should be big events?Because a wedding is in fact a big event in itself. It will be good for you if you find a photographer that has an experince in handling events.  As a San Diego event photography service I have seen first hand how that has helped in my wedding photography work.

Following these few steps will help you successfully find your wedding photographer. For something as big as a wedding you should choose the right photographer to document your special day.

Ways to finding a talented wedding photographer

The wedding is one of the most special days for a couple’s life. For a lot of women they have been waiting for this their whole lives.  For men it is finally deciding to settle down with the woman of their dreams.  With it being so special there are so many important jobs to make that day special. One of those important jobs belong to the wedding photographer.Since it is an important part of your wedding you should choose a good one.So will you be able to do that?

Well as a San Diego wedding photographer I have seen the ways couples have gone about trying to choose ones. From my experience as a wedding photographer I’m going to show you some points to ponder when you are still undecided who to hire.

First of all you have to anticipate your budget. It would not do you any good if you find someone you like but is very expensive for you to afford. So first decide your budget and once you know that you can narrow your choices.  Of course since it is such a special day my opinion as a San Diego photographer is to now worry about price.Price should not be an object since we are talking about a photgrapher here that would capture the most magical day of a couples life. But if it is then you have to know what you can spend.Once you know the limit of your budget then it would be easier for you to look for a good photographer that you like.

After you have already determined the amount of money that you will spend on a photographer then it is time to look for one meticulously. It would be just like any kind of job.  If you owned a business would you just hire someone?Of course you would not do that and neither should you when looking for your wedding photographer. You would want to know if you are compatible personality wise. You would want to look at his/her work.  And from my experience as an event photographer San Diego, you want to see how much experience they have dealing with weddings. If you go and interview a lot of prospects then you should definitely find a photographer that you like.

The relevance of having a photographer on a wedding day

A big part of anybody’s life is the wedding day.  Usually it is made out to be the bride’s special day.But this day is also important for the groom as well.A lot of reasons can be cited as to why that day is a special one.A vital part of a wedding that is often overlooked is the photographer.

Their part can make that day special is huge.  I know for a fact from my first hand experience as a San Diego wedding photographer.  Mainly because the photographer’s job is to capture that day.  All those special moments must be caught on film. The photographs are going to be the things that would remind the couples of their special day. And only a photograph can capture those moments in time.

What other things can a photographer contribute?  They contribute to turning that wedding day into a story.  A well thought out photo shoot can make a wedding album come alive.Beautifully timed photographs would make a photo album like a beautiful story of two loving persons.Shots that are taken or captured well should be able to tell the events to a person who wasn’t able to attend the wedding just by looking at the pictures.  So with that in mind you need a San Diego photographer who can really accomplish that type of job.But you must also decide if that is what you really want. All of us can just use our cameras then point and click.  But you want a photographer with an artistic flair as well.

Making it an event is the final thing a photographer can do.  In my photography practice my work is called event photography, because all occassions should be captured as an event, and a good event photography San Diego service should be able to do that.  Not just simple shots. But shots that seems to be bigger than life.

I hope that by now you would see the importance of a photographer during a wedding.  Pick a good one who can contribute to that special day.Who can make that day unforgettable not just for the couple but also for all those who attended the event. Because that day should be a very special day when you look back at it.

Techniques on how to have great pictures on a wedding day

One of the heaviest task for any wedding is being a photographer. That person is given the big duty of forever etching the events of that special day into photos.  They are not just given the job of taking pictures of that special day. They are also given the task of making the event look like an event that only happens in fairytales.Or at least every photographer should keep that in mind.  So here are some tips to help you make it magical.

First of all as a San Diego wedding photographer one of the best pieces of advice is to try and have the wedding shots during the best lighting. Now what time do we consider the best for taking wedding photos.  That is debatable. But a lot of photographers would agree that the best time to take pictures is early morning.Although it is also nice to capture photos on a late afternoon.By doing so, you will not be having problems with the excessive brightness from the sun when taking shots. This will give you the opportunity to take excellent photos.

Second as a San Diego photographer, I make sure to know the schedule of events. It is very important to take note of the schedule of events.  This allows the photographer to get ready to capture those moments.  By knowing when things are happening a photographer can anticipate shots. Not only the portrait shots but also the candid ones. Most of the time, candid shots are those that would really reflect the special moments that happened during that day.

Finally doing event photography in San Diego you should always be prepared. They should make sure they have backup film. They have to see to it that they are always ready with a backup camera in case the one in use gets broken. A backup is a must for any equipment that can be broken. The worst thing you wouldn’t want to happen as a photographer is when one of your equipments break. It would be terrible to miss taking shots when something breaks.Being always ready is the basic rule.If you are able to do so, you would have no problems taking pictures on that special event.

How to Find That Perfect Wedding Photographer

No doubt a wedding will be one of the most important moments that will happen in a person’s life. Countless hours go into wedding planning. Most of the tasks that take place in wedding planning are time consuming, stressful, and can be frustrating. That’s why it is critical that you do your homework when finding the right people for all the jobs. One of the critically important jobs will be for the photographer. From my experience as a San Diego wedding photographer I’ll show you it can be a few simple steps away.

Finding any wedding photographer is a huge task. There are several things to take into account when trying to make this important decision. The photographs that you get from your wedding day will be some of the most memorable moments that you. The photos will be on your walls for the rest of yourlife. One very obvious factor in deciding which photographer to choose is price. A lot of photographers will charge you a certain price for a specific lenght of time for the wedding. It is important to know what will be included with that price up front
price. When it comes to finding a wedding photographer, the biggest upside to pricing is there is a lot of competition. Keep in mind that many photographers are willing to negotiate their price a little to fit what you need.

Another factor to consider when choosing is how much experience a person has. Is this their first wedding job, or have they done a few? Their price might be an indication of how many years they have been in business as well. Now just because someone may have a lot of experience doesn’t guarantee they will be better. A lot times people that are just starting out and are trying to build a reputation for themselves will turn out to be great. The advantage of a person like that and going with them is you know they are going to give it their best. When looking for a wedding photographer, you will find people with varying levels of experience. Having a photographer do an interview can give you a good idea of what it will be like working with them.

A final thing to think about when you prepare to make that decision is what kind of personality does the photographer have. Are they likely going to try call all the shots and decide on all your poses? Or will they let the bride and groom make some of the decisions themselves? The other thing to think about is do you want to be the one to make the decisions on the photos. The bride and groom might have enough to worry about that day as it is. Take these factors and consider them when you choose your photographer. If you do, you will have some wonderful photos to cherish the rest of your lives.  Take it from me, your experienced San Diego photographer.

5 Great tips from a San Diego Photographer

Being asked to take photos for a wedding is a huge responsibility.  If you’ve been asked to do it as a favor, or have been asked to do it professionally, here are 5 tips to do to get the job done right.

This tips are coming from first hand experience as a San Diego wedding photographer. It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned pro, or if you are an amateur, by following these tips, you won’t second guess yourself.  You will be fully prepared for whatever may come.

Our first tip is a simple thing you can do and that is to have the couple and the families go and make a shot list. With a day that can be as hectic and chaotic as a wedding day, doing this will help when you are trying to organize all the group and family shots later on in the day.Imagine how wonderful it will be to just go down your list and know that you aren’t leaving anything out.

The second tip on our list is to not delete any shots.  In this day and age of digital cameras, most photographers use them.Great as they are, they might tempt you to delete a shot they may like that you don’t since it is so easy to do.Don’t even think of looking at the shots.Remember, what you think is a great shot, could be vastly different than what the couple thinks is a great shot. You never know, they might like all those so called un “professional shots.

A third tip to consider is making sure you get candid shots.A good photographer isn’t one who just takes the standard basic shots, like family shots, typical wedding shots, or whatever is the usual.  But they will also try and capture the emotions of the day through the shots of all the people that were there. It may include the things that go wrong also, like a flower girl making a wrong turn or the ring bearer not wanting to walk down the aisle.Every picture counts.

The fourth piece of advice is make sure you have back up equipment.  Do you even want to imagine having a camera stop working halfway through the day.Plan for the worst that could go wrong.  Being prepared will help you avoid that uncomfortable moment of not having a working camera to capture the rest of the day.

Last piece of advice, make sure you know the lighting of the wedding. The difference between the lighting in the church and the outside reception can throw you a curve ball, so just practice for all different lighting situations. Think about seeing if you can go to the locations of the big day and look for the best spots to take pictures as well as study the lighting needs.

Doing these 5 tips will help you immensely.  It will prepare you for whatever might go wrong, it will prepare you for capturing what goes right, and it will prepare you to help contribute to this wonderful day by being the best photographer you can be.  Take it from my years of experience as a San Diego photographer.

How to Choose The Best Photographer

Need a photographer for a special event?  Being a San Diego Photographer, I have some great tips to help you make the best choice for that special day.  So before you go opening the yellow pages and just calling up any old photographer, here are a few steps on how to choose a good photographer.

For special days, most people want to capture those special memories with pictures, especially if it is a wedding, I know from first hand experience as a San Diego Wedding Photographer; so it is very important that you research the photographer you are going to trust for the job.  So why not ask friends and family for some recommendations.  Their recommendations will help you formulate a list of candidates for the job.

After you have accumulated a list of photographers you should visit their websites.  Check out events they have shot and determine whether or not that is the type of photography you are looking for.  Photographers who have online portfolios will save you a lot of time because then you can prequalify them instead of having to wait til your first meeting to see their portfolio.

Third, start to call up the photographers and conduct a phone interview.  Once you have narrowed your list of photographers down to about two or three you can call them up and begin your interviewing process.  You can then make an appointment to meet with the photographer and view their portfolios if you have not already viewed it online.  During these phone interviews it is important to ask questions.  The more specific you are with your question the better understanding you will get as to whether or not the photographer is the one you are looking for.  While on the phone you should ask the photographer to bring in his collection of coverage of one particular event so that you will know exactly what to expect from that photographer.

After you have met with your two or three possible photographers it is time to decide which one is right for you.  The key factors to remember when deciding on your photographer is to make sure your choosing the one that you like and the one that understands the vision you have about how you want your memories to be captured.  Before you make the commitment to the photographer make sure you have asked all the questions you had and have considered all the photographers policies carefully.  Once you feel you have found the perfect photographer for your event, then go right ahead and make the commitment.

Completing all these steps will be huge in helping ensure that you find the right person for the job.  Doing this simple process will help you determine a couple of very important things.  It will allow you to get to know your photographer more than any other method.  This is important because it will allow you to know if this person has the style and the vision you are looking for on your special day.  And most importantly you will have a piece of mind that you will not have found any other way in regards to knowing if you have found the right person.  On special days, the last thing you need to stress over is the photographer.
