Finding Free Antivirus Software
The advent of the computer, as anyone can tell you, certainly brought with it benefits of such proportions we could never have previously imagined them. But, as with anything, the good always comes with the bad. The computer, while handing us the world, has also exposed us to the dangers of it. Part of the danger, exclusive to the operation of computers, is exposure to viruses that can wipe out our hard drives, render our software unusable, and in some cases, completely eradicate normal function of our computers. For most of us, who store personal, professional, and even legal information on our computers, virus exposure can be devastating. Luckily, most people employ the use of antivirus software that protects our computers from attack; much like hiring a bodyguard. And while some software can come at a hefty price, there is free antivirus software available on the market today.
Free antivirus software can protect your computer without you having to pay a large price for software purchase or download. This free antivirus software should protect your computer from all forms of viruses and prevent the entry of anything that will damage your internal and external systems.
Keep in mind however, that free antivirus software still comes at a price. And the price is being unsure as to the quality and effectiveness of the software. Reputable computer and software manufacturers all offer their own variety of antivirus software available for purchase. And because of their standing in the industry – and the fact that you are paying for the software – the quality of the product is assured. Manufacturers of this sort have a vested interest in standing behind their products and designing software that will effectively protect and serve their customers.
Those companies – mostly found on the Internet – that offer free antivirus software do so at risk to the consumer. If getting free antivirus software makes the most sense for your financial position right now, then do so with consideration to the reputation and reliability of the company.
Free antivirus software will provide you with a minimum of protection in the short run; but when you are able, you should invest in proper and thorough antivirus protection.

How To Find Cheap Software You Can Try For Free
Any computer store you go to today you are always going to see software on sale and the only reason its on sale is because they want it out of the store. There are a few problems to buying used software, incompatibility, it’s damaged or your CPU cannot read it. There are many things that are wrong with used software.
We’re talking about shareware – software that you can try before buying.
You should be able to try the software before you but kind of like shareware. You should be able to have a free trial for a certain amount of time. If you cant then it probably not worth buying because they want you to buy it and not be able to try it before you get it.
Anywhere you go used software is going to be cheaper then the original. Even though used software can be the same price it can also be just as costly as the software you are trying to buy. You never know anymore you could be trying to buy something that has a downloadable virus on it and the person selling it is the host. You just don’t know with used software that is why it is good to just buy it brand new.
Another thing to think about is will it work with my computer. There is so much software on the market today that is only compatible with certain operating systems that it makes it hard to find what you need.
If you want a lot of different software at once then you probably want to go with shareware. If you are going to want to be trying 4 different types of software at a time then shareware is what you need. So you can try them all before you buy them. All that software can be expensive.
Shareware is all over the internet but that makes it bad in a way. You could be giving your credit card number to a fake site and be losing everything. That is why you should just go to the store and buy one type of software at a time so you get what you want and don’t lose anything out of it.
So since shareware is just a trial you will not be able to get the full feeling of the software. The extent to the demo may or not be controlled so say you are wanting to see everything it has to offer you may or not be able to see it depending on how good the shareware is.
So before you buy all the unnecessary software is sure to get and know what you need and want. Use shareware to your advantage to see the software before you spend fortunes on it. It will save you money in the long run over paying for every piece of software you want to use or see how it works with what you are doing.

Download Software Safely With These Tips
Viruses run rampant daily on the Internet and can transfer to almost any computer without warning through software downloads. Even if downloading a so-called popular program, you could pick up a virus and not realize it for several days. And unfortunately, viruses can harm your computer’s hard drive beyond repair or at least cause a major upset in the way it functions. So before you get too hyped and start downloading software everywhere you might find it, use these tips as a guide to download software safely.
Software Awareness
First, get to know the types of software available to you and how each works. Freeware is free software being offered as a promotional tool or by individual developers who want to make a name for themselves. Freeware is excellent if you need a software program quickly and cannot afford to pay for it. But beware when downloading free software…it can sometimes contain Trojans or spyware viruses masked as a free program. Commercial software is mainstream product being offered by major software companies. Most commercial software is offered either online or in box form off retail store shelves. There is also the more moderately priced “shareware” that offers near the same quality as commercial.
Be aware that many software programs require updates from time to time. These too must be downloaded and may contain viruses if you’re not careful.
Avoid Spam E-mail Offers
Never follow a link from unsolicited e-mails to download software. If it’s a program you want to try, research it online and find a reputable source before downloading. Also, keep your guard up when a pop-up or flashy ad shows on your computer.
Know your source. Never download from a website unless you know the site is reputable. Perhaps your friend has already used the site, or you can research in forums to see what others are saying about it. Check with Better Business Bureau Online to examine a company’s integrity. Beware of sites that try to redirect you to other links or mask their real Web address. Avoid file-sharing networks if at all possible.
Compatibility
Whether free software downloads or paid programs, read all the instructions and description about compatibility to ensure it will work with your computer system. Some programs can harm your system if not compatible, or are difficult to remove from your hard drive after the fact.
Combat Viruses before they Start
Invest in a dependable anti-virus program that will detect viruses, Trojans, spyware/adware in a flash if you do encounter one of these while downloading software. Look for programs that offer to scan files for worms and viruses before opening them. Speak with your local computer repair shop for recommendations on a good, trustworthy anti-virus program. Warning: Some programs claiming to be “anti-virus” are actually carrying the virus and using this as a cover-up. Get recommendations from people you know and trust.
Back Up Often
If you frequently download software, keep a backup of your computer hard drive, or at least all your important files. This is extremely important if you own a computer-based business because one virus can wipe out an entire hard drive in only moments!
As you search for the program you need, look for safe Websites that specialize in software downloads. Some sites act as an all-in-one source to download almost any type of program needed. These give you easy access to the programs you need without having to research new companies every time.
