Ok, so my mobo went bad and right now asus is letting me pick out a new mobo for around $200 to $250. The problem is my mobo is a few years old so all the new mobos have new hardware while mine is still DDR2 with an IDE CD drive. I found one i really like on newegg.com its an open box Striker II Extreme for $207. Everything on my system is compatible with the Striker II except the memory. the striker says its a DDR3 mobo, im currently using DDR2 800 and i dont have the money to buy a memory upgrade. My question is, are DDR3 mobo’s reverse compatible with DDR2 and does this apply to the striker II extreme?
