my computer upstairs keeps restarting itself, when i turn it on it loads up fine but when it gets to the bit where windows xp is loading it restarts itself, anyone have any idea why it might do this? some people have said to me it might be because the fan is broke in the computer or my windows xp might be corrupt, i cannot even enter the computer in safe mode or any of that. somehow you got the hijacker virus, you need to run the antivirus program in the safe mode. start, run, type msconfig, boot ini. select safe mode, with internet. then when it starts in safe mode, run your antivirus. Hopefully this will pick it up, then go to the run again, and type msconfig, then in the first tab you will see the button for original boot, do that and it will reboot in normal.
Can’t get rid of Antivirus 2009….Help!!?
My computer is infected with antivirus 2009. I’ve tried everything, but nothing will work. And the internet is super slow and I downloaded malware bytes onto my comp but it won’t open up the installement. Can someone help? I renamed it and it started to install, thanks, but then it said unable to register the DLL/OCX:RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0×1
Answer:
You got the right program. You don’t need to go into safe mode or safe mode with networking. Just do this: Right-click on the installer > Go to ‘Properties’ > Rename it to ‘whatever.exe’ and double-click on it to run If you can’t load up too, then do this: Right click on the shortcut of Malwarebytes > go to ‘Properties’ > go to ‘Find Target’ > rename it, for instance ‘anne.exe’ and then double-click on it to run, not the shortcut (unless you rename it from within the shortcut itself, as well). Another method is to rename by exe extension to .bat, .com, .pif, or .scr and then double-click on it to run. For instance ‘mbam.bat’ and so on.
why we need to login as safe mode?
i want to know when we require safe mode? i am aware about the fact that safe mode requires less resources in order to do trouble shooting.

You answered your own question, to do troubleshooting. If you load a device driver from a new digital camera for example, it does not actually go active until you reboot. If, when it goes active, it is in conflict with another device driver, it is like a tug of war and the operating system usually freezes. How do you find the problem if the system is locked up? And guess what? It will lock up over and over until you resolve the conflict. So, here comes the use for safe mode, loading a minimum set of drivers so you at least have a chance to get the operating system back to actually operating and NOT freezing, so you have the chance to locate the offending driver and uninstall it so the system can work again in the normal mode. This is only common sense…

Answer:
You have a hijacker. Virtually all of the hijackers redirect you to their sites to increase profits for them. This one could be bad news as nothing I found on it was good. If AVG free won’t remove it, you may have to resort to a manual removal. http://free.avg.com/ If you need manual removal, then you need HijackThis. Download and install HijackThis (HJT) http://www.download.com/Trend-Micro-HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10227353.html It may be best to use another computer. Google any file names you can’t connect with legitimate programs. If you find any listed as malware, reboot to safe mode or the command prompt and rename the files. Be sure to make notes about what you renamed them so you can put them back if needed. Reboot and ignore any file not found errors since you just renamed the files. If everything boots ok, run HJT and click on just the files that were found to be bad and remove them. If you can’t get things fixed up with the help of HJT, then using any new information found, you can probably find a removal tool. Shadow Wolf
