People think it is very easy to take good pictures especially now with the onset of many digital cameras. That is far from the truth. First thing you want to make sure you find is a photographer you like.It seems that that is an obvious thing to consider.  But I have heard many horror stories as a San Diego wedding photographer of people choosing photographers they don’t get along with.  This creates problems several ways.  They could be stubborn and take photos they want rather than what you want.He/She might not be suited to work with you since he/she might not be able to bring out the best in you.Choosing someone that you like is the key.

Next thing would be for you to make sure that the photographer that you would hire has some style.That may sound vague.What I am saying is that since photography is an art.Go find someone who has the ability to put some artistry into your wedding photos so that the emotions during that day will be felt even by just looking at the pictures.  Obviously art is subjective and based on what a person likes.So go find a photographer whose style is the one that suits you most.  All my clients of my San Diego photographer service go through my portfolio so they can see what style of work I have.

Last thing is look for a photographer that has the experience in handling big events.Why do I emphasize that it should be big events?Because a wedding is in fact a big event in itself.It will be good for you if you find a photographer that has an experince in handling events.  As a San Diego event photography service I have seen first hand how that has helped in my wedding photography work.

Following these few steps will help you successfully find your wedding photographer.For something as big as a wedding you should choose the right photographer to document your special day.

The wedding is one of the most special days for a couple’s life. For a lot of women they have been waiting for this their whole lives.  For men it is finally deciding to settle down with the woman of their dreams.  With it being so special there are so many important jobs to make that day special.One of those important jobs belong to the wedding photographer.Since it is an important part of your wedding you should choose a good one.So will you be able to do that?

Well as a San Diego wedding photographer I have seen the ways couples have gone about trying to choose ones.From my experience as a wedding photographer I’m going to show you some points to ponder when you are still undecided who to hire.

First of all you have to anticipate your budget.It would not do you any good if you find someone you like but is very expensive for you to afford. So first decide your budget and once you know that you can narrow your choices.  Of course since it is such a special day my opinion as a San Diego photographer is to now worry about price.Price should not be an object since we are talking about a photgrapher here that would capture the most magical day of a couples life. But if it is then you have to know what you can spend.Once you know the limit of your budget then it would be easier for you to look for a good photographer that you like.

After you have already determined the amount of money that you will spend on a photographer then it is time to look for one meticulously. It would be just like any kind of job.  If you owned a business would you just hire someone?Of course you would not do that and neither should you when looking for your wedding photographer.You would want to know if you are compatible personality wise.You would want to look at his/her work.  And from my experience as an event photographer San Diego, you want to see how much experience they have dealing with weddings. If you go and interview a lot of prospects then you should definitely find a photographer that you like.

A big part of anybody’s life is the wedding day.  Usually it is made out to be the bride’s special day.But this day is also important for the groom as well.A lot of reasons can be cited as to why that day is a special one.A vital part of a wedding that is often overlooked is the photographer.

Their part can make that day special is huge.  I know for a fact from my first hand experience as a San Diego wedding photographer.  Mainly because the photographer’s job is to capture that day.  All those special moments must be caught on film.The photographs are going to be the things that would remind the couples of their special day. First of all as a San Diego wedding photographer one of the best pieces of advice is to try and have the wedding shots during the best lighting.Now what time do we consider the best for taking wedding photos.  That is debatable.But a lot of photographers would agree that the best time to take pictures is early morning.Although it is also nice to capture photos on a late afternoon.By doing so, you will not be having problems with the excessive brightness from the sun when taking shots.This will give you the opportunity to take excellent photos.

Second as a San Diego photographer, I make sure to know the schedule of events.It is very important to take note of the schedule of events.  This allows the photographer to get ready to capture those moments.  By knowing when things are happening a photographer can anticipate shots.Not only the portrait shots but also the candid ones.Most of the time, candid shots are those that would really reflect the special moments that happened during that day.

Finally doing event photography in San Diego you should always be prepared. They should make sure they have backup film.They have to see to it that they are always ready with a backup camera in case the one in use gets broken. A backup is a must for any equipment that can be broken.The worst thing you wouldn’t want to happen as a photographer is when one of your equipments break.It would be terrible to miss taking shots when something breaks.Being always ready is the basic rule.If you are able to do so, you would have no problems taking pictures on that special event.

Taking photographs of people have two categories.They are candid shots or portraits.

Portraits are the photos you take when your subject strikes poses.While the candids are when your subject is doing things naturally.

I would like to focus on taking candid shots.With this type of photography, their is an art form, and if you follow these steps you will be real happy with your work.  This is from my experience as a San Diego Photographer.

First off, don’t get in their way.  Most candid shots you take of course are going to be people going about their business, but the secret to taking a great shot like that is to make sure they are unaware of the shot.

Because often times, when they do notice you, you are going to miss the essence of catching an unguarded shot.So make every effort to ensure they are not aware of the camera. 

Another consideration is the setting or the environment.  When you are taking a candid shot, the setting plays a vital role.You want to capture your subject in their setting as naturally as you can with your candid shot.It’s that setting
whether it is their work, their house, or the street they are walking, helps tell a story of your subject’s life.  This is especially important if you are going to be taking shots as a Wedding Photographer San Diego.

A third tip to think about is to anticipate behavior. An important part to being able to take candid photos of people who are acting naturally is to know what your subject will do next in a situation.

This will be beneficial to you if you are trying to catch a particular moment because you will be ready rather than miss the shot.  Knowing how they will react and being able to capture that is all about anticipation.

Finally, look for those events that cause a person’s expressions to be expressed.  Because after all, when taking these types of shots, that is the main thing you want to capture in these candid shots is emotion.

Take a look at what your subject is doing and think about whether or not it’s a moment that will express an emotion.Such as impatience shown in an expression at a stoplight.Or a happy expression at an event.  Every moment in time provides an opportunity to capture an emotion.Being ready for those types of moments helps you capture that moment in time to tell that story.

Taking candid shots is definitely an art form.Especially if your goal is to tell a story with your candid shots. Following these few simple steps will help you be on the road of capturing as many storytelling moments as possible as a photographer.

Well, I’d love to share with you some great advice in photography to help improve your skills.  These tips are coming from years of experience as a San Diego wedding photographer.These tips are about using lighting and they will be some of the best advice and keys to your success in taking great photos.

First great tip in regards to lighting.Now if the shots you will take are going to be outdoors during the day, the natural sunlight will be some of the best lighting possible.  Now you are probably thinking, “that’s easy, when you are a San Diego photographer since it is always shiny there”, when in actuality really bright sunlight can cast harsh shadows.Or it could blur the details of faces when the sun is overhead.

Overall, most of the shots you are going to want to take with the sun behind you.  This prevents the harsh shadows that can be caused by the sun.There will be some times when you want to take shots from different angles when you do try to get some shadows into the shots.

Now that we know what to do during the day shots, what if you have to take some night shots? 

The key to taking photos at night is turning off your flash.Now if it is pictch black, of course you will need it, but if there are some lighting, use it, but make sure the shutter speeds are slower to let the light in.  Also you want to stay steady when taking the shot or you will blur the photos.  Doing these couple of tricks can make a dramatic difference when taking night shots. 

The final piece of advice to use for lighting is using the golden hour to capture great shots.Now there is a time that photographers refer to as the “golden hour” or “magic hour”, and that is during sunrise and sunset.

It is during this time of day when you will capture great shots that capture more warmer colors.  You will be able to capture that golden lighting you won’t catch any other time of day.

There you go.  Probably the biggest key in taking greatshots is to make sure you take advantage of the natural lighting.  Knowing what techniques to use for different parts of the day, or just scheduling a photo shoots to capture those times of day will help you become an excellent photographer.
