Why do people download rogue software, use limewire, and get hundreds of viruses and not know how to use their Operating System or how to get rid of viruses? All opinions welcome. Thanks! I’m just taking a break from answering for a few minutes! “Walk before you run” comes to mind. I respect that Colinc, I’m not trying to start an argument. By the way, I’m 37 years old so I didn’t grow up with this stuff either.

The ever present PEBCAK Error (Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard). Someone installed an idiot magnet in Web 2.0 and we have yet to figure out where it is, and more importantly, how to turn it off. P.S. thx for the much needed break from answering questions LOL

i want to know when we require safe mode? i am aware about the fact that safe mode requires less resources in order to do trouble shooting.

You answered your own question, to do troubleshooting. If you load a device driver from a new digital camera for example, it does not actually go active until you reboot. If, when it goes active, it is in conflict with another device driver, it is like a tug of war and the operating system usually freezes. How do you find the problem if the system is locked up? And guess what? It will lock up over and over until you resolve the conflict. So, here comes the use for safe mode, loading a minimum set of drivers so you at least have a chance to get the operating system back to actually operating and NOT freezing, so you have the chance to locate the offending driver and uninstall it so the system can work again in the normal mode. This is only common sense…

i want to completely wipe the hard drive i mean wipe it to when i first got it where i boot the computer up and it says no operating system found with a black screen insert operating system disk is there a program i heard putting a magnet near the hard drive will wreck it.

Answer:
A magnet may work but using a magnet on the hard drive will permanently damage the header of the drive, rendering the drive useless. So yeah, in a sense, you destroy the data and the physical hard drive itself.

Sheesh…….Your operating system must be outta date. I.E 8 is not ready for prime time yet but you can get I.E.7 here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx If you don’t have a legitimate copy of your operating system you might not be able to download it. You better check at windows update site to see how far you’re behind on everything else before your computer gets raped.
