The Greatest External Hard Drive According To Professionals In The Field
Because we live in a computer world it is important to have the best external hard drive to store our files in. We’ll need to keep our simple text files safe as well as our digital media files.
In this article, I’ll go over how to get rid of your tvs and dvds by choosing a great external hard drive to store all of this data on. I’ll go over some of the best reviews written on the subject so you’ll know which to choose.
The top external hard drives according to PC world are: LaCie 2big Quadra 2TB, Verbatim Quad-interface Professional Hard Drive and Wiebe Tech RTX400 QR. The external hard drive with the most durable case was the LaCie. This data drive can store up to 2TB of memory and can do so automatically through automatic computer data backup. To put it simply, this data drive is very versatile. Verbatim also has universal compatibility but only has a capacity to store files of up to 1,000 GB. This data drive comes with backup software by Nero.
The Wiebe’s only fault was that it was big, bulky, and heavy. This data drive is great for those that don’t plan on moving their external data drive from place to place on a regular basis. Fortunately, this hard drive has a storage capability of 4TB which completely blows away its competition. It also has some nice data backup software included.
CNET also made its own reviews that had two Seagate products at the top of the line. But I will only put on one in the list and that is the Seagate GoFlex Satellite, considered the best external data drive because it looks good, which means it is easy on the eyes if you put this at home; and at the same time, compact. It can stream digital content. Unfortunately, it can only take in three wireless clients at a time. I probably wouldn’t want to run this in a large corporate environment, but for small businesses and home use, this is a great device. Ipad lovers will make great use of this device.
The Plextor PX 256M2S was positively reviewed for its “great” performance. This machine is a bit costly, but laptop users find it easier to use. The Samsung 470 is light, compact and doesn’t look like the regular hard drive, in a good way. This is considered the best hard drive because it works well with any other application and it shows in the price of this thing, which is the only bad thing about the Samsung.
Download Software Safely With These Tips
Viruses run rampant daily on the Internet and can transfer to almost any computer without warning through software downloads. Even if downloading a so-called popular program, you could pick up a virus and not realize it for several days. And unfortunately, viruses can harm your computer’s hard drive beyond repair or at least cause a major upset in the way it functions. So before you get too hyped and start downloading software everywhere you might find it, use these tips as a guide to download software safely.
Software Awareness
First, get to know the types of software available to you and how each works. Freeware is free software being offered as a promotional tool or by individual developers who want to make a name for themselves. Freeware is excellent if you need a software program quickly and cannot afford to pay for it. But beware when downloading free software…it can sometimes contain Trojans or spyware viruses masked as a free program. Commercial software is mainstream product being offered by major software companies. Most commercial software is offered either online or in box form off retail store shelves. There is also the more moderately priced “shareware” that offers near the same quality as commercial.
Be aware that many software programs require updates from time to time. These too must be downloaded and may contain viruses if you’re not careful.
Avoid Spam E-mail Offers
Never follow a link from unsolicited e-mails to download software. If it’s a program you want to try, research it online and find a reputable source before downloading. Also, keep your guard up when a pop-up or flashy ad shows on your computer.
Know your source. Never download from a website unless you know the site is reputable. Perhaps your friend has already used the site, or you can research in forums to see what others are saying about it. Check with Better Business Bureau Online to examine a company’s integrity. Beware of sites that try to redirect you to other links or mask their real Web address. Avoid file-sharing networks if at all possible.
Compatibility
Whether free software downloads or paid programs, read all the instructions and description about compatibility to ensure it will work with your computer system. Some programs can harm your system if not compatible, or are difficult to remove from your hard drive after the fact.
Combat Viruses before they Start
Invest in a dependable anti-virus program that will detect viruses, Trojans, spyware/adware in a flash if you do encounter one of these while downloading software. Look for programs that offer to scan files for worms and viruses before opening them. Speak with your local computer repair shop for recommendations on a good, trustworthy anti-virus program. Warning: Some programs claiming to be “anti-virus” are actually carrying the virus and using this as a cover-up. Get recommendations from people you know and trust.
Back Up Often
If you frequently download software, keep a backup of your computer hard drive, or at least all your important files. This is extremely important if you own a computer-based business because one virus can wipe out an entire hard drive in only moments!
As you search for the program you need, look for safe Websites that specialize in software downloads. Some sites act as an all-in-one source to download almost any type of program needed. These give you easy access to the programs you need without having to research new companies every time.

You can find Peachtree training classes online and sometimes locally. There are also instructors that will come to your place of business to set up your software and provide on-site training.
Peachtree accounting software can be purchased online along with other great programs such as QuickBooks or QuickBooks Enterprise, ACT Software, MAS90 Software, or any CRM software (Customer Service Relationship software). Consider Peachtree or one of these other great programs to streamline your business operations.

What You Need to Know About Desktop Hardware
Over the years computers have definitely moved from being a luxury to being a necessity. Companies and citizens rely on these machines to be able to so their jobs. This technology is responsible for the innovations that have proliferated in past and recent years and that will continue to flourish in the future. It is not necessary to know the inner workings of your computer in order to use it successfully. If you want to know what it is comprised of, below is an overview of the topic.
You should be careful however, since some of these parts could damage your computer hardware.
Along with RAM and Hard Disk Drive, the CPU(Central Processing Unit) will determine the speed of your system. Single Core processors were the standard previously, but now you’ll want to get Dual or Quad cores, as they’re much faster.
The motherboard will be the most expensive part of your computer. This is what the essential components are connected to. Including the Hard Disk drive, RAM, CPU and there are add-on components with some kind such as sound and graphics card and the LAN port. It is not worth saving a couple dollars to buy lower quality and unknown brands on key components for the system.
Not many people are aware of the hard drive. Especially when they are using it intensively installing programs, and storing media files The more storage that a drive has, the greater number of files and programs can be saved on it. The files are yours to keep for as long as you want. Just for your peace of mind that your memory will still be able to take it. Delete files you don’t use any longer to create more disk space. If you want, you can upgrade your hard drive or use an external storage device such as a flash drive or memory card.
Data from the computer itself is stored on the Ram for a temporary period. This enables the CPU to perform at its optimum capacity. Shutting down the computer deletes any data on the RAM.
The images you see on your monitor are displayed in large part due to your graphics card. More and more changes are being made in this area of computers as well because of the number of active gamers out there.

The 7 Steps to Take Before Buying Computer Hardware When Building a PC
Using these 7 steps before buying your computer hardware can save you time, money and make your computer assembly go as smooth as possible.
1. Deciding what you need versus what you want -
When building a new computer, figure out what you need a computer for, and build for that reason. Over-kill can be a big waste of money. Don’t put a $300.00 video card in a system if you are only going to be using it to surf the web or run office programs.
2. Decide on the platform to build on -
The 2 main computer platforms are AMD or Intel. Choosing a platform to build on is a matter of personal opinion. Choose whichever you like as they both have their share of good and bad points.
3. Research the motherboards of your chosen platform -
After choosing a platform to build on, you will want to research motherboards of that particular platform (AMD or Intel based), making sure the motherboard you choose will have all the options that you will need (DDR, DDR2 or DDR3 dimm slots, PCIe 2.0 slots, number of Sata connections, etc.)
4. Research the processors of your chosen platform -
Again, Over-kill can be a big waste of money, decide on a processor that fits your needs ( if you never multi-task, a single core processor may be the way to go ).
5. Research other devices needed – memory, video card, hard drive, monitor, dvd/cd, floppy, case and power supply, keyboard and mouse -
After deciding on your platform, motherboard and processor, you will want to research and decide on the other components needed, making sure everything is compatible with your motherboard and that your chosen power supply is adequate.
6. Double check and verify compatibility of all parts with motherboard specifications -
It is always a good idea to double check your motherboard specifications with each individual component to verify compatibility (ATX motherboards must mount in a case that supports ATX form factors, etc.)
7. Make a list of all parts and perform price comparisons -
After choosing the parts you are going to use to build your new computer and verifying everything is compatible, you will want to make a list of each part and start price comparing as there could be a big difference in the price of each part depending on where you shop.
These steps can seem like a lot to do, but they can save you a lot of money and headache when it comes to finding the best brand PC hardware, while at the same time you will also be learning about how to assemble a computer.

How to Purchase Desktop Computer Hardware
Below you will find tips that I have learned on purchasing computer hardware. So, one piece of advice that you can most likely use is that you are the one that is making the final hardware purchasing decision. Don’t be fooled by salespeople into purchasing unnecessary computer parts. While you should certainly take other people’s opinions and advice into account, don’t let yourself get so sidetracked that you wind up buying something that you really didn’t want.
A common fear is purchasing computer hardware alone, however do not be afraid. Buying a computer for the first time can be a very difficult task. Research will be needed in order to educate yourself about various hardware. The hard drive, mouse, keyboard and monitor are all very simple concepts. Before you buy hardware read and review the product first.
You will need to study more information about the processor, motherboard, and other peripherals to fully understand their purpose and function in the entire computer system. Some factors must be considered when choosing this hardware. How are you intending to use your computer? As the difficulty of the task your computer has to perform increases, your processor will be taxed more heavily. When choosing which processor to buy, make sure you consider various processing speeds and pick the one that can meet your requirements. Consider the future and how long it will be until you need to upgrade. When you want to upgrade, it is in your favor to buy the newest version and models. This will make sure your computer lasts as long as possible.
Talking about memory – the higher your RAM number, then the greater the amount of information that can be processed simultaneously. This will lead to faster completion of your tasks. While using the memory on your motherboard be aware of its type. Your motherboard will only be able to accept a specific type of RAM. An SDRAM may not be used in a motherboard that only accepts DDRAM, for instance.

How do i completely wipe the harddrive?
i want to completely wipe the hard drive i mean wipe it to when i first got it where i boot the computer up and it says no operating system found with a black screen insert operating system disk is there a program i heard putting a magnet near the hard drive will wreck it.
Answer:
A magnet may work but using a magnet on the hard drive will permanently damage the header of the drive, rendering the drive useless. So yeah, in a sense, you destroy the data and the physical hard drive itself.
Accidentally Uninstalled Hard-Drive Driver?
I recently had DVD detect issues, so I read up and decided to just uninstall them from the device manager and reboot. However I accidentally clicked on the Hard Drive and clicked Uninstall. After I re-booted (to check if the dvd drive worked) it hangs on a black screen. Please help, Thanks in advance.
Answer:
damn… this sucks first, do you have a spare computer or a buddy with a computer. you need a second computer and use set your hard drive as a slave so you can get the data off. make sure you have backed up all of your data!!!! once everything is backed up now you can play and try to resolve this issue. if you have backed up your data the easiest method is to reformat your system there are a few ways to fix this in bios but if you are not sure what to do re-load
