How Does A Registry Cleaner For XP Work?
The registry file in your Windows XP operating system is where all kinds of vital data including all your hardware and software configurations and system settings is kept stored for easy retrieval and faultless operation. In order to keep the registry file at peak performance, you should frequently use a registry cleaner for XP to remove outdated information and errors.
The registry is designed to log all the changes ever made to the system at any time. Everything from software installations or removals, to component configurations and hardware additions are recorded in the Windows registry file as they happen.
Over time, your registry will have logged so much information that it begins to pile up. Outdated information clogs the registry file and slows down the PC. A seriously clogged registry can actually cause your PC to fail and crash frequently. A registry cleaner can remove all the obsolete entries in order to correct errors and free up space for new entries.
When you are ready to download a registry cleaner from one of numerous online resources, make sure the cleaner you download is made for your operating system since every operating system’s registry file works slightly differently than all the others. So if you’re running Windows XP, download a registry cleaner that is made to be used for XP.
The way a registry cleaner works is it scans your entire registry file for problematic things like blank spaces, old entries, fragments, and keys that have been embedded by any malware programs. The registry will remove all of these items permanently.
You also have the option to configure your registry cleaner to automatically scan your PC’s registry file and repair it without your supervision. If you do decide to schedule automatic registry cleanings, you should keep a back-up in order to restore the registry entries should a problem occur.
If you want more in depth information about registry cleaning, you should consult Windows Registry Cleaner, which is a comprehensive online resource that will educate you about Windows registries and their role in the proper functioning in PCs.
Registry cleaners are a highly recommended means of maintaining your PC’s performance. Especially with the amount of freeware that people download on a daily basis, using a registry cleaner for XP (or whichever OS you use) can help keep your PC in good working condition.

Answer:
There may be several reasons why your computer is freezing. First question is when was the last time you cleaned your registry. Having a corrupted registry can cause a whole host of errors and problems. Freezing up is one of them. If you have a lot of unnecessary registry keys that are hogging up your computer resources. Your computer is bound to choke. Scan your registry with a good registry cleaner. If you pull up more than 20 errors or duplication, clean your registry. 2. Depending on your RAM specs and your computer usage. This could also be a the issue. Having an insufficient amount of free space does not allow your RAM to function properly. If you are using a lot of RAM by net surfing or other activities without enough empty space your will get freezes. You don’t need to buy new RAM but you should increase your free space by removing unnecessary data and perhaps increasing your virtual memory. The below link will show you how. 3. Spyware could be the culprit, so do a scan and see if your computer is infected. 4. Another area is a hardware drivers. This could be the problem if new hardware has been added to the system. So, the drivers should still be up to date. So try the first two suggestion and see if you can get your computer to stop freezing. Check your drivers. 5. Lastly, check the dust buildup on the fan to make sure you system is cooling properly http://www.delete-computer-history.com/fix-computer-freezes.html
How I fixed my slow computer
I assume that the problem of a slow computer is what that many people suffer from so I wrote this account of how I fixed mine to help. So lets begin with looking at what was wrong with it. Well in the time I had owned my computer its performance had fallen of gradually but significantly. The computer now took a lot longer to boot up than it had done previously and program's were much slower to respond than before and frequently crashed with the message “program has stopped responding”.
I had of course thought about replacing the computer but this seemed to me like an expensive option epically as I was not trying to do anything which the computer had not been capable of in the past. So I began to search the Internet for a solution and I came across www.fix-this-computer.com a web site offering advice on getting the most out of your computer. I took a good look around the site and tried the virus checker and the spy ware checker. These scans didnt find anyhting but then i cam across the section of the web site about windows registry errors. I read the text in this section and the symptoms sounded just like mine so I decided I probably had registry errros. I visited the the link offering a free scan and was directed to a software site where I downloaded software that scanned my computer for registry errors. The program found an amazing 307 errors on my computer. I elected to purchase the software to fix these problems and upon purchasing a license was given a password to upgrade the software from the trial version. Once I had the software it was easy and the software was scanning my computer in minutes. It took about ten minutes to fix all the errors and since they were repaired the computer has ran like a treat.
