my motherboard is listed as “Maximum Supported RAM Size 2 GB”?

is the the maximum per slot (there are two slots for ram) or for the whole board? here the specks page…. http://www.techfuels.com/ram/7176-abit-computer-abit-nf-m2s-motherboard.html Ps. I know its a cheapy, dont slag, cause its ok as buy a new cheap computer every year or so, instead of an expensive one every few years and i dont play any games at all!! peter, is this possible without a floppy drive? Its been a long time since i did this sort of thing, do you still need a floppy drive to flash the bios? I dont replace the motherboatrd every year, I replace the whole computer! It spreads the cost and means I can buy a cheap computer, but still keep up to date!

Answer:
2 gigs is all you need. I went from 2 to 4gigs last winter and could notice much difference at all. More ram is important until you get up to 2gigs but after that, not so much. Ram has a law of diminishing returns just like being hungry. The first hotdog(gig of ram) is really good, the second is pretty good, after that not very valuable.
