I have an anti-virus program that…?
it is called Personal Anti-Virus. I did not download this or anything, but I think it is the cause of trojans and pop-ups. I have Norton, which works perfectly, how do i get rid of “Personal Anti-Virus”? I have went to control panel and went to programs and tried to delete it, but it was not there. I have tried deleted the program straight from the list of programs I have, but it is not there either. So once again, How do I delete an unwanted program that I have, but is not visible?
Answer:
What you see of the alerts are fakes and trying to scare you into buying. It’s call a rogue software. Well, if you ever come across a scan or an alert saying that your system is critical on the net, don’t click on any of the buttons, including the ‘X’ because if you do, you can trigger a download of malware. To avoid that happening again, hold down Alt+F4 to close the browser. Follow this free removal guide using Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware. ‘When you click on these alerts, Personal Antivirus will be installed on your computer and automatically be configured to run when you start Windows.’ Start at ‘Automated Removal Instructions for Personal Antivirus using Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware:’ http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-personal-antivirus
