Does anybody else here hardly ever get viruses and not use virus protection?

It amazes me how widespread viruses seem to be. I have no firewall or antivirus software installed whatsoever, and I cannot remember the last time I’ve had a virus. I download music from p2p networks and via torrents, too. Hell, I even have windows vista. I just use common sense, and it works for me. Anybody find this to be true? To preface, I’m not saying it is a good idea not to have protection. On systems with valuable data, it is a must, I know. A fair question James. I occasionally will do a quick scan (online or with something I download) and never find much of anything. Also, my computer never shows any quirks that hint at a virus, and I don’t really type or store any important information on this computer Yoho, this is true, I considered this, but most of the people that seemed to be overwhelmed with viruses have routers too. Actually, a lot of the time I do have some ports open (for my server). I download software too, but I have learned to judge what is legit and what is not.

Answer:
I have no virus protection, no firewall, and I cannot remember the last time I had a virus or any other problem because of it. Like you said, I think common sense (well, mixed with computer sense) is the best protection.
